Connecting with Source Energy

Reiki is one of the best ways to connect with Source energy. When I say "Source" energy, I mean the energy that connects people and all living things together. We are all made of energy, and although we are each individuals, we are made up of the same energy.

Many times we feel we have to reach out to feel connected. I would like to suggest that we only need to go within to do so. Place your hands on your body and feel the heat of your hands connect with your heart, your head, your stomach, your legs...notice how each part of your body feels when you do this. Allow this transference of energy and visualize it flowing from "Source", down through your crown, flowing throughout your body and out of your hands... and back into your body in a circle. Notice how each area of your body relaxes. You are connected to Source energy.

Reiki self treatment is very important to the reiki practitioner. Not only does it keep the energy flowing freely through your chakras, but it also strengthens your connection to your Source.

Enjoy your connection~

My Thoughts on Reiki Attunements

As a Reiki Master / Teacher, I have many students who ask me questions in the hopes of wrapping their minds around what exactly Reiki is. These questions have inspired me to write this letter, and I hope you find pieces of wisdom from my thoughts.

Reiki, as you may know, means “Universal (or God) Life Force Energy”, or the energy that makes up the universe and all within it. Reiki, therefore, is the energy of all things animate and inanimate, breathing and not breathing. It is all encompassing. Whatever you can hold or cannot hold; whatever you see or cannot see, is all a form of Source energy. You, my dear friend, are God Energy.

Many books, videos, etc., are available on Reiki. When we read these books or watch these videos, we may become confused by all of the “attunements” or varieties of Reiki that are now available. I have had calls and emails from many dear Reiki friends who were bewildered by the many branches of Reiki. They either felt they didn’t need all of the different attunements or they felt inadequate because they only knew the Usui method.

I have other friends who collect Reiki attunements from all over the world; they feel that the more varied forms they are attuned to, the better or more powerful conduit they will be for the energy. First of all, let me go on record saying that receiving a variety of attunements is a personal decision, and is right for those who choose that path. However, I feel I need to say also that when you work with energy, no matter what you call the form, all energy is the same. Some people need to be attuned to different forms of Reiki or energy work, and some work very well with only one method. Both decisions are correct for the individual.

I have seen many different varieties of Reiki attunements, or Reiki “rays” (rays of power). There are Goddess attunements, animal attunements, Atlantis and Lemurian attunements, tantric attunements, and the list is endless. It can be extremely overwhelming, but for those who are not called to receive all of these attunements, let me assure you that when you are in alignment with Source energy, you already have alignment or attunements with ALL energy.

Many of you know that I work with Animal Medicine. My animal spirits work with me on a daily basis. When I give a Reiki treatment, I often am assisted by my animal spirits. Does that mean I have a different attunement from another? No, I don’t think so; we all work from a Universal perspective, and each of us has the ability to call on whatever is in our highest good for each particular treatment.

Reiki is a spiritual journey…when you work with any type of energy, no matter what it is called, you are going to have a deeper spiritual understanding the longer you work with it. In my personal experience, I found that level 1 taught me to recognize God/Energy in all things. I worked on every one and every single thing I could get my little fingers on! :) When I worked with level 2, I had a wider scope of perspective. I could work with someone I couldn’t see, I could work with the past, I could work with the future, and I could work with organs, DNA, cells, sickness, etc. When I realized the fullness of this level, I began some serious soul work. Level 2 is very much “internal” in scope. I found “black spots” (for lack of a better phrase) within myself that I was able to heal; emotions and physical and heart trauma that I could reverse and make well. The possibilities were endless! Level 3 and teacher lessons helped me to pass this information along to others. I also had a much deeper connection to my personal abilities.

If you have any questions about how to use your attunements, or if you simply want more information, feel free to contact me.

You are loved.

Reiki and Emotional Release

Many of my clients absolutely love Reiki. Several of them have noticed measurable results in their emotional well being. This has encouraged me to delve more deeply into energy work with the purpose of emotional healing, release, or "unwinding".

I work very closely with essential oils for emotional release. I also work with the Upledger Institute, and I am trained in "SomatoEmotional Release". These modalities combined with Reiki are very powerful, and extremely successful in helping clients deal with the emotions trapped in the tissues of their bodies.

You see, when we are young and come in contact with emotions or events we cannot process, we learn to suppress them internally. This suppression is not just in our minds; our bodies take on this trauma or stress as well, with the understanding that when we age and are able to deal with the issues, our bodies will bring them back up to consciousness so we can rid ourselves of them.

Make sense?

However, when our bodies bring this "stuff" back up, we tend to become emotional or physically sick, and we don't realize what is happening. This has happened to me several times and, even though I knew I was getting "sick" because of stress, I didn't know how to deal with it.

During my latest bout of Bronchitis, I realized that I was doing this to myself; I wasn't dealing with the stress in my life, and my body was saying, "Okay, I quit. I have to rest, and you have no choice but to let me". I spent this time resting and researching on the best way to release some of this emotional sickness that seemed to be trapped in my body.

I give thanks for my body's signals, and I am developing, with the assistance of my fabulous clients, a beautiful blended modality that relaxes the body and releases emotional stress at the same time.

I call it "emotional unwinding".

Internal Energy Check

I purchased a CD set a few months ago, and the author/speaker wanted us to sit comfortably in a chair and feel what is going on in our bodies. She would breathe and make pre orgasmic noises on her exhale. She would distract me with her "hmmms" as I struggled to feel stuff. The exercise was about forty-five minutes of pre-orgasms and hmmmmm. I was about to crawl out of my skin. My first thought after that exercise was over was, "I cannot believe I paid ninety-nine dollars for this!"

Later in the CD, she said, "You may have a problem with the way I put this CD together," and I laughed out loud. Yep, I sure did...then she said that those feelings were ways for us to disconnect from what we were trying to do...in essence, judging others was keeping us from our potential healing.

I agree. However, if I ever make a CD that has moaning and "Big O" bliss on it, please just put me out of your misery.

I did learn something, though, as I sat in my great room and tried the exercise without the CD.

The Art of Listening

I was speaking to a client the other day. During our conversation, I realized that I was unable to truly speak to her; she repeatedly interrupted me. At first I was surprised, then slightly disturbed.

Why did she ask questions, then not wait for answers?

Then Jack and I went out to eat at a local restaurant. Since I am a "people watcher", I noticed a couple across from us talking over each other. They were not arguing...they simply weren't listening to each other.

I realized that listening is an art.

Do we listen, truly listen to ourselves and our desires? Do we know what we want out of life? Do we have defined goals and deadlines?

If not, Reiki can help.

Give yourself a Reiki treatment. After the treatment, focus on the distance symbol. If you have not learned any symbols yet, create your own. Why use a symbol? Because it simply helps you focus your intent. If you work with intention and can focus without a symbol, please do so. Then as you focus, ask your question.

Then listen.

Let intention surround you...let the Reiki energy surround you, and listen. Your spirit will become more focused and more welcoming of the answer you need.

Love and blessings,
Dana
